Questions

Is my file uploaded?
No. It is read in this browser tab and the Markdown and CSV are built there too. Like every page on this site, this one counts visits; it never sees your file.
Why are some highlights missing?
Two common reasons. Publishers limit how much of a book can be clipped, and past that limit the Kindle writes a placeholder instead of the text. And the Kindle apps for phones and tablets don't write My Clippings.txt at all: for those, use Amazon's notebook at read.amazon.com/notebook.
Why did my duplicates disappear?
When you edit a highlight on the Kindle, it adds a new entry instead of replacing the old one. Of two highlights that start at the same place, the exporter keeps the longer one, and it drops exact repeats.
