About Kindle Watchlist
Kindle Watchlist is a free release tracker that watches the book series and authors you follow on Amazon and alerts you the moment the next book is announced, opens for pre-order, or comes out.
What Kindle Watchlist does
Series tracking
Add a series once and it is checked every day. When the next book appears, gets a release date, or opens for pre-order, you hear about it within about 24 hours.
Author following
Follow an author instead of a single series and get told about every new book they publish, including brand-new series you haven't started yet.
Release alerts
New releases, pre-orders, announced dates, date changes and upcoming launches — by email, push or in-app, instantly or as a digest. You pick the channels and the cadence.
Reading progress and stats
Mark books as read, reading or want to read, so you always know where you left off in a series. Your stats — books, pages, estimated hours, top author — come from those same marks.
Groups and sharing
Organize series into your own named shelves and, if you want, share your library with a public link. Sharing is off by default.
What makes Kindle Watchlist different
Built around what comes next
Goodreads and StoryGraph are built for logging and reviewing books you've already read. Kindle Watchlist is built for the book you haven't read yet: it checks every tracked series daily so you don't have to.
Series-level tracking, not just authors
Following an author on Amazon covers that author as a whole. Kindle Watchlist tracks each series individually, so you only hear about the series you're actually reading, and it also supports following whole authors when you want that.
Date changes, not just releases
Each daily scan is compared against the previous day's, so a release date that quietly slips or moves up triggers an alert. Pre-order openings and newly announced dates are tracked too.
10 Amazon stores, 7 languages
Kindle Watchlist works with amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.es, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.ca, amazon.com.au, amazon.co.jp, amazon.in. Links open in your own store, with your prices and currency, and the app is available in 7 languages.
Free, with no ads and no premium tier
There is no subscription and no paid plan. The service is funded by Amazon affiliate commissions on purchases made through its links, at no extra cost to you, and your reading data is never sold.
Who uses Kindle Watchlist
- Readers of long-running Kindle series — fantasy, sci-fi, LitRPG, romance, mystery — waiting on the next installment.
- Kindle Unlimited readers who follow many indie authors with fast, irregular release schedules.
- Readers following dozens of series who no longer want to check Amazon by hand.
- Readers outside the US who buy from their local Amazon store (amazon.co.uk, amazon.es, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.ca, amazon.com.au, amazon.co.jp, amazon.in).
The team behind Kindle Watchlist
Kindle Watchlist was started in 2026 by Bernat Martinez Vidal, a software engineer and series reader, to stop finding out months late that the next book in a series had already come out. It began as a personal tool that checked his own series every day and grew into a public app.
It is an independent, one-person project: the same person designs, builds, runs and answers support for it.
How Kindle Watchlist works
- Onboarding: sign up with email or Google, pick your Amazon store and language, then add series or authors by pasting an Amazon link or searching. It takes about a minute.
- Checking: a scheduled job scans every tracked series once a day and compares it with the previous result.
- Alerts: changes are delivered on the channels you chose — email, push or in-app — either as they happen or as a digest.
- Support: email support goes straight to the founder, who builds and runs the product.
